American advertising market continues to decline

The US advertising market fell for the seventh straight month in January. The decrease was 5.8% compared to January 2022. But in this last month, January 2022, the percentage was no less than 23.1% higher than in January 2021, the lowest January figures since the index has been tracked. Compared to these low figures from January 2021, the advertising market increased by 15.0% in January 2023.
Top 10
The top 10 ad categories fell 4.1%. These outperformed the other categories, which fell more than twice as fast: -8.7%.
Interestingly, the share of digital ads in US ad spending fell to 52% in January. This indicates that January is the month with the lowest share of digital ads, while December is the month with the highest share of digital ads.
